File pane
file viewer · file panel
The file pane is the part of
Claude Code Desktop that shows your project's files — the list on the side and the file you're currently looking at. You open a file by clicking it, read it right there, and make edits without ever typing cat or grep in a terminal. It's where you watch what Claude is reading and changing as it works. Why it matters
Part of What Claude Code is (and how to start) → It turns 'where is that file and what's in it?' into a click instead of a command — the Desktop answer to the terminal's file-reading commands, and where you eyeball Claude's edits before you accept them.
